MECHANICAL SEAL
T-seals have a double acting seal design that are available in both piston and rod profiles.Their design aid in preventing extrusion .They are also a more reliable options, as they help eliminate the rolling or spiraling associated with O-rings,provide better extrusion resistance than an O-ring or backup ring assembly, promote lubrication for reduced friction and wear.
T-seals design consists of a T-shaped elastomer component supported by a back-up ring on each side.The combination of these elements results in a stable seal that ensures a positive sealing lip configuration. Popular materials include nitrile (NBR), hydrogenated nitrile (HNBR), and fluorocarbon(FKM) for the elastomer component and PEEK for the back-up rings.
